I've been working with MOM since its 2000 incarnation. I then had the pleasure of working with the legendary Ian Blyth on a project to upgrade to MOM 2005. Following a few more MOM 2005 implementations I joined 1E as a MOM Consultant where I struck up another successful partnership with that MOM giant Andy Dominey. I was also extremely lucky to have SMS/ConfigMgr guru Andy Taylor (not the one from Duran Duran) as my mentor, and between the two Andys, they turned me into a half-decent Consultant if I do say so myself
Sadly I had to leave 1E due to my children threatening to change the locks the next time I travelled. So now I have a 'proper' job in the process of upgrading to OpsMgr 2007. I had to re-learn MOM 2005 which felt a bit like a step back but made me appreciate the great leaps forward in OpsMgr. I am also an SMS Administrator which feels a bit like I joined the 'dark side' but OpsMgr will always be my forte. Unless ConfigMgr (when I get to it) really turns my head.
My main interests are in Operational Excellence and how to use the tools to hand to achieve this. And if we automate as much as we can we can all go down the pub that bit sooner
- another of my favourite pastimes.
